Information packaging strategies serving the communicative needs of speakers

چکیده

This paper presents the findings of a study diverse information packaging strategies employed by speakers English to better serve their communicative needs in given contexts, based on examples from British National Corpus (BNC). More precisely, analysis centres around possibilities offered light verb constructions (LVCs) comparison full counterparts. As is conventionally recognised previous studies, LVCs formally stretch predicate over verbal and nominal element (e.g. order vs give an order). It precisely this fact that makes it possible for structure utterances various ways. Thus, either all participants are overtly realized sentence focus could be placed each one them depending context, or some reduced, which preferred strategy when identity implied, unfamiliar, irrelevant would rather concealed.
